17th of September Kira gave birth for four healthy babies. 2 Siamesis and 2 Oriental Shorthairs :)

We are getting very close now. Kira was already yesterday quite nervous and looking for a place to drop her cargo. Maybe tonight is the day... :)

Warre is now IC and Kira has 2 weeks to go

Last weekend we made a speedtrip to Zilina, Slovakia. Warre was presented there and he got his 2x CACIB and became International Champion.

Kira has last two weeks to go, and her belly keeps growing very fast. Later on this week, we will go to vet to get the checked and then we will just prepare for the birth. Everything has gone well until now (*knocking the wood*) and we hope that these last weeks wont bring any suprises.

We hope to have then a live camera feed up after the babies are born, so you'll be able to see our little darlings as well.

2 1/2 weeks to go...

Everything is going well with Kira and her BabyBelly. It is growing bigger day by day and her appetite as well. There is still bit over 2 weeks to go before she is due, so we are waiting patiently.

The sire of the litter is our wonderful oriental longhair male, CH Rimppakintun Aamuvarhain alias Warre who has the most amazing, and loving character!

The kittens are going to be OSH variants, and both parents carry SIA + Classical tabby.

Babybelly keeps growing

Kira is doing good and her belly keeps growing with alarming speed. So we are preparing here for a big litter. One week before the due date (16th of September) Kira will have xray and ultrasound to confirm the amount of kittens.

1 month to go

Everything has gone well up until today and we hope it keeps going well all the way :) Kira is very HUNGRY all the time and keeps demanding loads of FOOD as she is STARVING to death... We increased her foodrations and still it is not enough for her, and she keeps stealing everything she can get her paws onto. Starting from slices of bread all the way to ricecakes...

Happy Daddy Warre is going to Zilina, Slovakia to a catshow end of this month to get his foreign certificate. Keep your fingers crossed!

Right now we are living with very busy schedule as we are moving to a new, big apartment with our cats so updates might not come too frequently, but please be patient - soon all is done and we got a proper "crazy cat lady-environment" build for our cats <3

one month to go

Yesterday we took Kira to the vet to get her checked out. Everything is ok, and there are multiple heartbeats inside her... So now it is just the last month of waiting for the babies to be born :)

1month+1day to go...

Her belly is growing very fast, and we are already placing bets on when she will look like a watermelon. She is very hungry all the time and demands loving. But that is just normal for her :)

"Daddycat" Sir Warre is doing good and got his vaccination booster yesterday and received a lot of compliments from our vet. 2 more weeks and Warre will be in Zilina in catshow and after that most likely in Warsaw show.

Kittenbaby Hatchery is working

Kiras titties has turned nice and pink, so we can be quite sure she is now hatching her babies... Estimated day for delivering the cargo is on 16th of September, tho we think she will keep them for few days more.

 

We are waiting to have a colorful litter of OSH variant babies (siamese possible, as well as classic tabby). Both parents have excellent character and are healthy. Warre has already sired one litter in Finland for Willicon cattery and the babies are very good looking.

The proud daddy of the litter, Warre, just finalized his champion title last weekend in show.

So, after all the misfortune of our first litter, we are ready to try again.

Kira will be mated to her next heat, the proud father of this litter will be our handsome Oriental Longhair male Rimppakintun Aamuvarhain "Warre".

Both of the parents are healthy, and carriers of classical tabby. The kittens will be OSH variants.

Week to go...

Days go so fast, and we are going through the last week of Kiras pregnancy. She is doing better than good, excellent in fact. She eats, she plays and looks a bit for nest to settle into. And she resembles a toy I used to make as a child, a pinecone having 4 sticks put on bottom as legs. It is called "käpylehmä".

Currently I have received a lot of queries about the babies, but please be patient and lets see first how many are born and how they are doing :) I will not be taking any reservations at the early stages as I want to see the babies develop.

We are going to put up a webcamera with livefeed of the nursery, so as soon as we have things happening, I will be posting a link where the livefeed will be so you get to enjoy the kittens as well.

Mothership, ETA for delivering cargo... 1 week

Tic....Tac....Tic....Tac....

Patience is a virtue they say... But I feel like counting seconds already for the moment the babies can be born.

The Mothership is doing well. She eats (a lot!), plays and grooms herself, and did I mention her eating ? I think not... The familiar meow sounding like rusty hinges greets me everytime I go to the fridge, just to give me a not so gentle hint that her Mothershipness is very, very hungry.

Kira had some bleeding Sun + Mon, but it has ended now. She got us very worried, and we took her to the vet (at hematovet, where we always visit) and did an ultrasound. Everything looked good for the babies, all hearts were beating. The bleeding has ended now and reason for it remains mystery. What is tho important, is that Kira is doing very well... besides the fact that she has trouble remembering that her belly is so large and she should not rampage around the house so badly anymore.

This weekend we will be building the nest for her where she can start settling to have her babies.

no, we did not break her leg... she just found a comfy position to sleep...

 

So more updates coming soon about our Very Pregnant Mothership. Funny, the day I got her back her behaviour had changed already so much that I just knew that she was pregnant. 

2 weeks to go!

Kira is doing well. She is getting quite big now and having some trouble moving around with her belly, but she is eating like a horse! We are giving her plenty of food now, and started already building a nest for her to settle in later on.

On Sunday morning she had some vaginal discharge so we took her to the vet, everything was normal and the babies were alive in the ultrasound, so nothing to worry.

So, how many babies are there ? ;) It is still 2 weeks to go until duedate, so we will see the belly growing a lot more now.

Bit over a month to go, and our dear Mothership will deploy her cargo, and we will have first litter of Oriental babies in the home!

Kira was ultrasounded on Saturday and small litter is coming, but the babies will be still very loved :) We knew she was pregnant the day she returned, as her character had changed so much. She is "too pregnant" to even play with her favorite toys nowadays, and only things she wants to do is to eat, sleep and get loved. And eat... and eat... oh, did I mention she really likes to eat!
